HOW TO GET THERE

Middle Cottage, Heather Cottage, and Wagtails Apartment
LLANMADOC
SA3 1DE

Take “Swansea West Services” Jcn 47 exit off M4. The slip-road takes you to a roundabout and a set of traffic lights above the M4.

At this large roundabout, take second exit and follow A483 following signs to “Swansea/Gower”.

Then after a mile on same road, which starts flat but then descends downhill, and you come to a roundabout*. Take the second (i.e. right hand) exit (west direction) towards “Llanelli/Gower/Gowerton” onto the A484.

*NB: At this roundabout the road signs are confusing as they also direct traffic “to Gower avoiding low bridge” taking you towards
Swansea via first [left] exit of roundabout. Ignore this and take second exit right, unless you want to visit the large "TESCO Extra" or M&S Food store found at Fforestfach before going into Gower.

Proceed directly through the next roundabout. (2nd exit), passing “The Farm shop” which is on the same roundabout.

You should now start to see views of North Gower and Lougher Estuary. Still follow A484 and then at another roundabout half a mile later down the incline, take the first exit turn left towards Gowerton on B4296.

You then pass a Harvester restaurant. After driving underneath railway bridge, you come to lights at Gowerton some 20yds later after railway bridge. Take a right at lights, on B4295, signed to Llanrhidian. After a mini-roundabout Tesco Express is then on your left. (Its worth stocking up on provisions here – no particularly good shops other than Petrol Station and Post Office after this).

You are now on the “
North Gower Road” or B4295 which you should follow for 6 miles or so, passing through Penclawdd, Crofty, Llanmorlais and Wernffrwd.

After Llanmorlais, and after another 2 miles, still on B4295, you arrive at Llanrhidian Petrol Station (Heronsway Filling Station). Continue straight on.

Keep driving past the petrol station and you then enter the village of Oldwalls and as you pass the (now derelict) Greyhound Inn public house on your left we suggest you ignore the brown sign telling you to continue straight on for the Britannia Inn and instead FORK RIGHT towards Llanmadoc/Cheriton/Landimore via Weobley Castle - and Llanmadoc is 2 miles (6-7 mins driving) onwards.

DRIVE SLOWLY - NARROW COUNTRY LANES HERE.
SHEEP SOMETIMES WITH LAMBS SITTING IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

More specifically make sure you pass Mulberry House (left side) then the hamlet of Leason (on your right), Windmill Farm/Ocean View (on your left) and pass Weobley Castle (on your right), then after by-passing the village of Landimore and after 200m you dip left down steeply left to Cheriton Village (past St Cadoc's Church) and then turn sharp right and up the hill into Llanmadoc Village. Passing the Britannia Inn on your right, drive on straight up the hill for 600 yards until the road opens up into a green with turning circle and you will see a red phone box on the left.  You are now outside Middle Cottage and Wagtails Cottage.

How to Get to Heather Cottage

Heather Cottage (and it's parking) is at the rear of this row of cottages. To get to Heather Cottage drive up the lane called Rattle Street which is to the immediate left of Corner House Cottage (which is the end cottage of the row immediately left of Middle Cottage).

50m into Rattle Street a green opens out and at this junction (just next to the Council Salt bin) turn sharp right into Catchpool Lane. This is a part tarmac part gravel lane. Almost immediately on turning into Catchpool Lane enter the third farm gate on your right which takes you into Heather Cottage. This Gate may be open and has signs on it "Gower Cottage" and "Heather Cottage".

Please enter the gravel car park and park to the extreme left near the brown wooden gate into Heather Cottage Garden. Dai and Heather also park here but on the centre and the right.

Where is Middle Cottage

The front door of Middle Cottage near but just along from the red phone box in the small row of white cottages.

For Middle Cottage guests are kindly asked to unload at the front but then to move their vehicle and park at the rear. The rear car park is accessed as per Heather Cottage above.

The car park for Middle Cottage is fairly obvious  - just drive in via a Farm Gate on the right.
The Farm Gate for Middle Cottage rear car parking area has a "Middle Cottage" sign on it.
It is the 2nd Farm Gate on the right up Catchpool Lane.

Where is Wagtails Cottage

Wagtails Cottage has the red Phone Box at the end of its own driveway.
Guests can park in the driveway.
